The extent of host range of 56 strains of Pseudomonas syringae, for which whole genome sequences are available, as a function of genomic features annotated by the Joint Genome Institute Integrated Microbial Genomes and Microbiome System (https://img.jgi.doe.gov). The phylogroup (PG) of each strain is indicated for the seven phylogroups represented by this set of strains. The genomic traits presented here are those for which there were statistically significant (P < 0.05) correlations, based on Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation. For all strains considered together, the extent of host range is significantly correlated with the number of genes for transmembrane domains (correlation coefficient = − 0.330) and the number of genes in biosynthetic clusters (correlation coefficient = 0.313)
