Wheat Mingxian 169 reaction types after infection with aeciospores from barberry (B. shensiana). Grass leaves with telial sori were collected in March, 2014. Teliospore germination was then determined and basidiospores derived from germinated teliospores were used for inoculation of barberry seedlings. Aeciospores produced on barberry were subsequently used for inoculation of Mingxian 169 wheat cultivars and infection types of these Pst isolates were determined on a 0-to-4 scale. a, b Pycnia and aecia produced on barberry leaves after inoculation with basidiospores from germinated grass teliospores. cg Leaves of the wheat cultivar Mingxian 169 showing different infection types after inoculation with aeciospores. The infection types in cg are 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively
