From: A G-type lectin receptor-like kinase in Nicotiana benthamiana enhances resistance to the fungal pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum by complexing with CERK1/LYK4

Fig. 4

NbERK1 is important for the chitin-triggered association of NbCERK1 and NbLYK4. a Silencing of NbERK1 reduces the chitin-triggered association of NbCERK1 and NbLYK4 in Nicotiana benthamiana. GFP-tagged NbLYK4 and HA-tagged NbCERK1 were co-expressed in N. benthamiana (pre-treated with TRV:GFP or TRV:NbERK1) for 36–48 h. Samples were treated with 200 μg/mL chitin for 15 min before harvesting. Protein associations were detected by Co-IP assays. b Chitin does not induce dissociation of NbERK1-D644N from NbCERK1. GFP-tagged NbCERK1 was co-expressed with HA-tagged NbERK1-D644N or NbERK1 in N. benthamiana for 36–48 h. Samples were treated with 200 μg/mL chitin for 15 min before harvesting. Protein associations were detected by Co-IP assays. c Chitin does not induce dissociation of NbERK1-D644N from NbLYK4.
